The mission of the Springdale Advertising and Promotion Commission is to advertise and positively promote the city of Springdale and its environs; to increase occupancy, revenues and visitation in Springdale hotels, restaurants, meeting facilities, attractions and businesses; and to enhance the cultural, recreational and economic environment of Springdale.

On October 8, 1991 the Springdale City Council passed an ordinance creating the Springdale Advertising & Promotion Commission. The ordinance established a 1.5 % tax upon the gross proceeds of hotel and motel accommodations in the city for Advertising and Promotion of the City and its environs, and to be collected by the Springdale Advertising & Promotions Commission. On July 12, 2011, the Springdale City Council voted to increase the city’s A&P tax to 2.0%. The A&P tax is also known as HMR (Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant) Tax, Bed Tax or Tourism Tax.

The Springdale A&P Commission provides funding to qualified groups who will attract overnight guests, particularly meetings, groups and conventions, to the city of Springdale. These funds are instrumental for economic development which will entice visitors to stay in Springdale hotels, eat in Springdale restaurants and shop in Springdale shops.

Current members of the Springdale A&P Commission include Jayson Janda, Justin Cole, Rick Culver, Mike Lawson, Mike Overton, Adriana Torres, and Brian Stanley.
